Background

Technical

We use the Subversion version control system to track our work. This greatly facilitates collaboration. SVN comes with excellent documentation.

LaTeX is distributed as part of TeXlive on most Linux distributions, and MikTeX for Windows. Mac users should follow the installation instructions for TeXShop.

The software that runs this website was written by Adrian Nievergelt et al., and is available under the GPL via Git from git://dieterries.net/mitschriften.git

Historical

Students of the D-MATH and D-PHYS first started a project similar to this in Fall 2004. The VMP started hosting it in 2005, and with its new automatic build capabilities, it quickly expanded. At the time this server was retired, it hosted 59 projects at over 2800 commits during its lifetime. All these projects have been moved over to ADPS.
